First iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 Beta Updates: Apple has started rolling out the iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 beta updates to developers for testing. Some new changes will be coming to Apple iPhones and iPads with this new update. But before the update is made available for users, Apple is seeding it for developers to be the first testers.

The new iOS 16.4 and iPadOS beta updates are coming with some big changes. The changes include push notifications for web apps, new Apple HomeKit architecture, an updated Apple Podcasts app, and more.

HomeKit is also getting a new system architecture that will make it better and more reliable. The new system architecture will also improve communication with Apple devices. In iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4, the Home app will support automatic and manual software updates for Matter accessories.

Subscribers will now get a new Channel tab for subscription in the Apple Podcast app. There is also a new browser section in the CarPlay app that assist users to resume podcasts. The new Up Next queue feature now displays unfinished podcast episodes in Apple Podcast.

As soon as you add a page to your home screen via the Web Push API, push notifications that can be configured will be available in Web apps. In older iOS and iPadOS software, you could only add web apps through the native Safari browser. But with iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4, third-party browsers will support push notifications.

A total of 31 new emojis will be added in iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4. Users will also be able to turn on developer betas directly from the software update menu without installing a developer profile from the Developer Center.
